Current numbers state that campus crime has been lower than the past years, however a study from the office of David A. Breston states that UC Berkley is the leading most dangerous campus as of recent. 

Teens arrested after armed robbery near UC Berkeley

Police arrested two teenagers from Antioch in connection with an armed robbery overnight on UC Berkeley's Frat Row. 

On August 22nd, 2025, at 2 AM a young man called campus police to alert them that he had been robbed at gunpoint. He said the robbers demanded jewelry from the victims. 

This led to a high speed chase where it ended because the robber crashed his car while running from police. Both suspects sustained minor injuries. 

The suspects being, Mateo Haro Rodriguez and Daniel Cestoni Montenegro.
